As members of the First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River, we trace our roots back to the year of 1883. In that year, Crystal River was a sleepy frontier fishing and tourist village with a saw mill and an industry that made wooden crates for the shipment of oranges. It was in 1883 that Dr. Joseph Davis Bennett arrived in Cyrstal River and began Sunday worship under a pine tree on his property.

In 1889, a sanctuary was built. This was the first church to be built in Crystal River, and it served the Presbyterians for the next 80 years. Then in 1969, ground was broken and the cornerstone was set at our current location. The first service was held on December 14th, 1969. Services here are a reflection of our history and to the glory of God. We look forward to seeing you here!

TWO SERVICE TIMES

Saturday evening @ 6pm
&
Sunday morning @ 11am

We are doing In- person worship at both services. There’s room to spread out, hand sanitizers are available and surfaces are cleaned often. People may wear masks if they feel that is necessary.

The brand new A/C is pumping cold air throughout the facility.

Online Services currently include a worship service from Facebook Live. While this traditional Presbyterian service is available every Sunday morning, it certainly can be viewed at any time. We plan to continue the inclusion of contemporary music as well as traditional organ pieces. There is a place for your comments, and we look forward to hearing from you. This is an opportunity for us to grow our faith and to come in contact with others who are on similar journeys.

What we Believe

PCUSA

We are members of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay part of the Presbyterian Church, USA. Worship generally includes prayer, music, Bible reading and a sermon based upon Scripture, prayers of intercession, personal response or offering, and the Sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Click below to learn more about what is unique about Presbyterianism. Strong emphasis on the grace of God in Jesus Christ is our heritage from the founder, John Calvin.

Food Pantry

The focus of LifeTree Food Pantry has always been outreach and the creation of relationships. If you think about it, this is how disciples are formed! That’s our purpose: to be disciples and to make disciples.

There has been a food pantry for years and it has grown immensely in the last five years. While food is offered to all who need it, the Pantry Team also offers prayer, information of local services to those who need specific types, and conversation.

The Quilters of LifeTree Church have created quilts for every occupied bed in Citrus Habitat for Humanity homes that are built each year. Each quilt is different and fits the needs of the new home- owners.

In addition, the Bear Crafters create and stitch stuffed teddy bears for each child 10 years and under who will live in one of these new houses. In addition, bears (lambs and rabbits) are also available for purchase and the money is donated to the church.
