DUE TO THE NATIONAL PANDEMIC – PLEASE STICK WITH US TO FIND OUT WHEN WE WILL BE RE-OPENING.
Online Services currently include a worship service from Facebook Live. While this traditional Presbyterian service is available every Sunday morning, it certainly can be viewed at any time. We plan to continue the inclusion of contemporary music as well as traditional organ pieces. There is a place for your comments, and we look forward to hearing from you. This is an opportunity for us to grow our faith and to come in contact with others who are on similar journeys.
As members of the First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River, we trace our roots back to the year of 1883. In that year, Crystal River was a sleepy frontier fishing and tourist village with a saw mill and an industry that made wooden crates for the shipment of oranges.
It was in 1883 that Dr. Joseph Davis Bennett arrived in Cyrstal River and began Sunday worship under a pine tree on their property. In 1889, a sanctuary was built.
This was the first church to be built in Crystal River, and it served the Presbyterians for the next 90 years. There were many transitional locations of our church between from the inception. Then in 1969, ground was broken and the cornerstone was set at our current location. The first service was held on December 14th, 1969.
Services here are a reflection of our history and to the glory of God. We look forward to seeing you here!
